Hope you enjoy.Stardust
music *ping*
One of the last Doo-wop songs...
Just gorgeous
I’m partial to Nat King Cole’s version that was also used in the movie “Sleepless in Seattle”.
btw, I was gifted the “dry” version from a mastering engineer that was sourced direct from the raw studio tapes before the dreaded reverb was added for the commercial release - AMAZING sound quality that makes many
“modern” recordings sound like distorted garbage .

Hoagy Carmichael’s Stardust written and performed by him in the 1920’s.
So many covers
I have a real preference for Glenn Miller’s instrumental of 1940

Many folks will tell you that Stardust is the best song of all time.
I would not argue with that. It’s a masterpiece.
When I was in junior high orchestra, one of the numbers we played was Stardust. I didn’t understand the melody for years... And doo wop is a tragic treatment. When I think of Stardust, it always brings up the memory of an all-time favorite that also has a complex, dreamy melody, Deep Purple.
Beautiful.
One of my favorite songs. I hadn’t heard this version. They did a nice job.
I’m still partial to Artie Shaw’s instrumental.

Shortly before his death in 1981, Hoagy Carmichael told a reporter that if he had written “Stardust” at the time—late’70’s, early ‘80’s—he would not have been able to sell it. That would be truer today.
