I've got both and most of the time it's the 30-30 for me. Besides the cartridge, there is something more elemental about the lever action. If someone else was buying my ammo, it would be the Marlin 90% of the time.

Also have a soft spot for marlin lever action 30-30, and the .357 is really nice too.
But I guess my all time favorite is the old reliable .22...not a lot it won’t do, fairly quiet, not expensive to feed. I wouldn’t take it on a bear or wild hog hunt...but it can handle almost anything else.
