Issues Response to News Stories about Trump Not Pursuing Clinton Investigations
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made the following statement regarding reports that President-elect Trump decided that his administration will not pursue investigations into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal or the Clinton Foundation:
Donald Trump must commit his administration to a serious, independent investigation of the very serious Clinton national security, email, and pay-to-play scandals.
If Mr. Trump’s appointees continue the Obama administration’s politicized spiking of a criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton, it would be a betrayal of his promise to the American people to “drain the swamp” of out-of-control corruption in Washington, DC. President-elect Trump should focus on healing the broken justice system, affirm the rule of law and appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Clinton scandals. In the meantime, Judicial Watch will vigorously pursue its independent litigation and investigation of the Clinton email, national security, and other corruption scandals.

Also, if Obama decides to pardon Hillary, it’s a moot point. In fact, Trump may be daring Obama to pardon Hillary for the email/server issues. Hear you have Trump saying he won’t prosecute Hillary, so why is Obama pardoning her (assuming he does)?

Look, Trump is not President yet. Obama is currently President. Obama DOJ and FBI did not find anything resulting from their investigation of Hillary Clinton. No grand jury was called. Those are the rules boys.
Now, the Clinton Foundation is currently under investigation.

Obama DOJ & FBI investigation found nothing to prosecute. Although I agree with the partisan prejudice in this investigation, no grand jury was called under the current administration.
Instead of trusting Trump you are wanting only more verbal rhetoric from a President Elect that has no power yet.

Great post - I agreed with all you said, especially the last sentence, “ He should stay out of the FBI’s business, unlike Obama/Lynch.”
He could have made that promise to Obama himself, behind closed doors. That way he would only have only broken a promise to one man... now he's sounding like he broke a promise to millions of us.
Imagine what impact this has on the morale of our law enforcement agencies and all of us who took him at his word.
