Part of me thinks Penn State would do Ohio State a favor, because OSU probably still gets to the playoff without having to play in the Big Ten Championship Game.

Of course it would be weird if Penn State wins the Big Ten title and they don’t even go to the playoffs, when a team that didn’t even win their division does.

I think if Peen State wins the B1G by beating someone like Wisconsin, and if Ohio State beats Michigan, they both may get in. Not saying the will. The committee may not allow it. But how do you not take the Number 2 team that just beat the number 4 team? And how do you not take the B1G Champion when the B1G appears to be the premier conference this year? This is what makes college football so much better than the NFL. I still say they need 8 teams. Four games News Years Day (ex. Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Orange). Then two games a week later. Followed by the championship game a week after that.

Ohio State should have had a shot. They were the defending champions, they lost one game, in a monsoon, on a last second field goal. As a result MSU went to the B1G Championship game. But that is the current system. In an 8 team playoff that would not have been the case.
