I think it’s totally fine for any actor to recite MLK’s speeches, but to play him would be odd because his struggle was directly tied to the racial struggle.

Jefferson was a slaveowner, but MLK readily quoted Jefferson’s words because of the universalism of the message.

And Jesus was more than mere man, but yes I know people share my views.
