Hillary won NY by 1.503 million
Add in a few others....
Hillary won IL by 915k
Trump won TX by 800k
Hillary won NJ by 500k

Exactly. Anyone wanting to dismantle it is insane. Founding fathers were brilliant to come up with the idea.
Hypothetical situation....say NY, CA, and Florida held 2/3 of the country’s entire population. Then everyone in those states voted for 1 candidate. That candidate would win the election even if everyone in every other state voted only for the other.
Electoral college must remain in place.
