I'm going to have to say in hindsight, and this as a Cruz supporter, the level to which the media, pop culture, the establishment of both parties and every other imaginable group came together to try to obliterate Trump to get Hillary elected was such that there simply could not have been anyone else other than Trump who had the ability and means and balls to fight back unapologetically against the most corrupt and evil candidate in the history of our republic. Cruz, Walker, et al, could not have withstood the onslaught. Trump relished this fight that would've sent your average GOP Presidential candidate to hide under the bed and wet their drawers.
