President Trump is playing the game. Not smart to come into office scorched earth. He knows exactly what he’s doing, trying to bring people together at a time of major divisiveness.

If he didn’t keep these two pieces, his efforts will go down in flames. Kids just out of college are buried in debt, they have a hard time picking up health insurance on top of it. And it’s not free, they’re just on an existing policy.

As for pre-existing conditions, there was no mercy on that. I believe it’s why my sister-in-law in gone. Anything can be done if options are explored and the best remedies put in place.

Thoughtful responses, now you tell me how to fix it. This is sort of the whole point to my post.

Companies would do business across state lines in the same way, they sell life insurance, auto insurance, homeowners insurance, elder care, etc. This is part of the same reason State Farm is also a bank. More business, bigger part of the pie.

Costco would sell insurance for the same reason that Walmart wanted to become a bank...to give their customers more services and to differentiate themselves from their competitors.

FYI, I said a company can do what ever it wants, but you are not getting your compensation cut. If the money is going to insurance, it is not going into your pocket.

Dr. Carson has already stated there will be high risk pools, purchasing across state lines and health savings accounts in a free market system!!!

It’s only fair to pay more for additional years of coverage. 26 hamburgers should cost more than 22.

There is no solution that the government can enact without being more intrusive and more expensive than Obamacare. The sooner we realize that the better.

Companies would do business across state lines in the same way, they sell life insurance, auto insurance, homeowners insurance, elder care, etc. This is part of the same reason State Farm is also a bank. More business, bigger part of the pie.

State Farm does business across state lines because they are approved to do business there by the individual state insurance commissions. They cannot sell insurance there otherwise. What Trump is proposing is for a person in one state buying insurance from a company in another state not registered with the purchaser's state insurance people. The question is why would the customer want to buy such a policy and why would the insurance company want to sell it?

FYI, I said a company can do what ever it wants, but you are not getting your compensation cut. If the money is going to insurance, it is not going into your pocket.

Sure I am. I'm losing company subsidized insurance and having to pay for it myself. And just because my company is not offering insurance does not mean my compensation would go up. If I were to marry and drop my coverage to join my spouses plan my employer does not increase my salary to offset my dropping insurance company. It just pockets the savings.

Yup. There are somethings that government can't fix. It can only make it worse. Providing healthcare via private insurance companies is one of them.

Obamacare has to be taken apart piece by piece. That’s how it was constructed. Pieces of it infest every area of healthcare. It’s sort of like building blocks. You can remove one block and it has no affect on the others. It’s diabolical.

Exactly.

The sole purpose of today’s media is to make money for the person who owns that media... and promote socialism.

Just the lally columns to keep the rest from collapsing while Trumpcare is installed, will be quite a sight.

That’s what most modern “news” appears have been sucked into. The temptation to orchestrate the show by manipulating what the public is told about the show, must be an overwhelming one. Socialism loves this kind of use. Free enterprise, not so much.

“Mr. Trump said he favors keeping the prohibition against insurers denying coverage because of patients’ existing conditions, and a provision that allows parents to provide years of additional coverage for children on their insurance policies.”

Those seem reasonable.

Trump will repeal Obamacare and replace it. The replacement may have a couple things that were in Obamacare. What would you expect, Trump is going to put together something much more workable for America.
