The political divide is Socrates versus Plato. Is the average person an independent capable being who should be given the maximum freedom? Or is the average person a slave and needs to be told how to live by the upper 10%?
Most Democrats are either natural slaves (wanting to be taken care of) or expect to the be elite telling everyone else what to do.
