As a child growing up in the ‘50s, almost half of the World living at that time consisted of people born in the 19th Century. There were still a couple of Civil War vets alive at that time. Hard for me to fathom.

Last living person on Earth born in the 1800s.

I remember my great-great-aunt who was born in 1894; she died in 1992. She was sharp as a tack til the end and used to marvel how wonderful it was to have lived before the Wright brothers and yet be able to see the moon landing and the space shuttles. RIP, Aunt Bea.
