Nah, he was forced to do this because IF he didn’t he would be prosecuted for conspiracy. Whatever is IN those emails is that bad. This was an attempt to cover HIS butt when the emails are made public...probably this week. Otherwise there is NO reason to do this.
You may be right. He and the media were in the process of covering up the initial investigation. It was dying down and going away, except on conservative websites. Then this came up, and it was too much to keep a lid on, so the whole thing blew.
