Maybe it's just human nature. We have become too rich, enabling a significant portion of the population to not only navel-gaze for a living, but to expand upon that navel-gazing to enforce upon society at large their idiosyncrasies and even perversions.
OTOH, there is a significant percentage of us who want to follow The Constitution and live in a republic. I don't see any alternative to the country breaking up. Whether that will happen violently or peacefully remains to be seen.
It would be interesting to see if two countries can live on the same land, side-by-side in peace.
If one wants to live in liberal La-La-Land they can. They can pay the liberal government’s high taxes, have the liberal government’s laws enforced on them, reap whatever lavish benefits the liberal government rations, with whatever private charities can attempt to fill in the gaps where heavy liberal taxes and regulations allow, and take advantage of any opportunities available under the liberal government’s rules.
If the next door neighbor wants to live in a conservative land they can. They can pay the conservative government’s lower taxes, have the conservative government’s laws enforced on them, reap whatever benefits the conservative government provides, with private charities providing the rest if needed, and take advantage of any opportunities available under the conservative government’s rules.
Damn that's some pretty good stuff
I am stealing it (with attrubution)
