I was born in '88.

Ironically the L.A. Dodgers won the World Series that year. Who the Cubs just beat.

The Cubs had a losing record in 1985 and won squat. The Cubs have appeared in the post season since their 1945 World Series Appearance 7 times not including this year. They were in 1984, 1989, 1998, 2003, 2007, 2008, and 2015. All those ended in losses and failure to appear in the World Series. In the old days before the divisions winning the pennant meant winning your league and going to the series. I’m not sure if the term shifted to just winning your division.
