I think you are right, she refused to go along and got out when she could when they fired Roger Ailes.

After Ailes was gone, the new boss hired a courier to go to Greta's home and deliver the message to not come in to work this afternoon. She didn't even get to say goodbye to her audience.
Obviously they wanted to get Brit on the air ASAP. Very chickenhsit.
