No, just onto the only Martian organism still alive on the planet. And the organism's last words were "Oh no, not again."

This lander is a proof-of-landing-ability for a future rover. Non-rechargeable batteries lasting 2-8 Martian days. This craft, that is.

Don't know the specs for the 2020 planned rover.
