I live in SoCal and I’ve worn shorts every single day. For decades. I’ve had plenty of admiring comments from women (and even the occasional poofter) about my legs but not once has it been that I ought to shave them. Sounds like a pajama boy fad to me.
Starting in silent films, dashing Hollywood actors shaved their chests, for swashbuckling films. Legs? NEVER!
The Tarzan actors were all pretty hairless where one could see, but starting with Johnny Weissmuller, many had been Olympic swimmers.
Elmo Lincoln was the first movie Tarzan and he was hairless too. *shrugs*
