The guy who wrote the article said that, and so far as I can tell, Hillary just grabbed the entire text of the article and posted it in an email.

If you read the entire email, it's an editorial that was forwarded to Clinton. She then forwarded it to one of her staff, asking him to "pls orint".

This is the actual email, read it for yourself and decide: https://wikileaks.org/clinton-emails/emailid/18539

The editorial was originally published in the Hebrew edition of Haaretz. It was apparently never published in the English edition.

Someone in Australia not affiliated with the newspaper took it upon themselves to translate it. The choice of words was probably his, as I doubt there is a matching Hebrew word for "n*gger".

The image you are seeing posted has been carefully constructed to conceal the context, so that it appears that Clinton wrote it.

Thank you for clarifying this. Even if it was true, it wouldn’t hurt Hillary. The only people who’d be upset are those of us who aren’t voting for her anyway.

The choice of words was probably his,

That is what it appears.

The image you are seeing posted has been carefully constructed to conceal the context, so that it appears that Clinton wrote it.

It is certainly hard to follow, but what it doesn't appear to show is Hillary consciously using that term. Unless we can demonstrate intent on her part, it doesn't really do anything useful.

It occurred to me last night that I could use Google Translate to read the original article at:

http://www.haaretz.co.il/news/politics/1.1649589

(Note: the domain name in the email has a typo).

Here's the translation:

https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.haaretz.co.il%2Fnews%2Fpolitics%2F1.1649589&edit-text=

In Google's translation, the word in question is rendered as "Arabush". With a bit of digging, I found that's an Anglicized version of "Akhbaroshim".

Literally, it's a concatenation of two Hebrew words: "Arab rat". It's obviously an insult, but I don't know how offensive it might be considered.

So, I think it's reasonable to say this was a bad translation.
