Just got back from an Italian food store. Political correctness killed Columbus Day. NO mention of CD ANYWHERE in the store. No special sales.

I DID see an obese, pregnant Sudanese Muslim woman and her daughter with ZERO English language skills EXPECTING to be waited on by a middle aged, skinny Italian man who worked at the store.

You could SEE the frustration on his face. She would not pick up one tiny light box and actually expected ME to help her as the Italian man carted her out with cases of pasta, etc. Boxes were literally spilling off at the heavily ladened cart.

She gestured at me and pointed as if to say, YOU, PEON, pick up my STUFF! I ignored her and walked past.

Probably all EBT purchases. She climbed into a brand new Toyota Highlander to add injury to insult!

Umm I am a naturalized American (originally from Canada) and I NEVER expected to be waited on and not speak English!!

I almost threw up in my mouth when the older Italian lady at the cash register was trying to appease her by telling her how “beautiful” her wildly coloured dress was.

What a story.

There are some odd behaviors out there.

I've never experienced what you experienced, but I think it will become more common with the increased/increasing Muslim immigration.

At some public gathering I attended, there was a black girl wearing a Remember Trayvon shirt. Is it really OK to enlist children in propaganda campaigns? Especially one so dubious!

One form of odd behavior comes from the liberal who is full of stereotypes. They will think they know what I think, but never sincerely ask. I've run across this several times in several ways. It is just about impossible to have a decent conversation with someone who is deeply indoctrinated by the left.

At one point in the cell phone era, I routinely held doors open for women. They passed me without recognition talking on their cell phones. I stopped holding the door open for women talking on cell phones. Minor problem, I know. Anyway, one way or another that problem has been solved. For example one woman on her phone, looked at me, smiled, and silently mouthed "thank you" as I held the door open for her. If she hadn't made early eye-contact, smiled, and hurried a little, I would have let the door go. It's ingrained in me now.

I've recently moved to a conservative, Christian community. Everyone is so nice! I think I have been on guard all my life. Here the only problem is that I might not be nice enough myself.
