The one with the bat committed Felony assault with a deadly weapon. He was neither attacked nor in jeopardy when he attacked the clown. This is NOT a case of self defense.

Given the actual epidemic of criminal clown attacks, it was a case of attempted terrorism, which brings an assumption of deadly threat.

Man standing in the road, holding balloons is at worst, an ass. But it is not a crime to be an ass.

It is a crime to hit someone with a club, then continue the attack with multiple attackers. Assault by a mob is reasonable justification for the use of deadly force. Assault by a person swinging a bat at you is reasonable justification for the use of deadly force.

Had the clown pulled a gun and shot dead his attackers, he would have been justified under self defense. His attackers have NO justification.

Epidemic? I've heard in the news about a lot of clown sightings, but no real attacks. Can you clue me in?

Except there isn’t an epidemic of clown attacks. There’s an epidemic of reports of clown sightings, and people claiming to be attacked but then recanting when questioned by police.

And a few people who actually ARE dressing up like clowns and attacking people, probably because of all the hype.

In Virginia, it is illegal to wear a mask in public to hide your identity — couldn’t tell if this was a mask, or painted on.

From the headline, I expected to see a clown in a horror mask banging on their car. Not some smiley-faced clown paint with balloons standing in the street getting beaten by people who had to get out of their car to do it.

Even the White House weighed on the phenomenon ,saying the sinister sightings that have led to about a dozen arrests should be taken seriously and that the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security had been consulted on how to handle the scare.

The Terrorist in Chief can't bring himself to declare islam terroristic but he sure can go overboard calling in Homeland Security over some clowns.

"Given the actual epidemic of criminal clown attacks, it was a case of attempted terrorism, which brings an assumption of deadly threat. "

That's ridiculous.

There are no substantiated case of "Creepy Clown Attacks", only claims with no witnesses or video...even in places where there are cameras.

It's nothing but mass hysteria and false claims. Apparently you're aboard that train.
