Well God bless you CyberAnt. I have a friend who rescued her little granddaughter who was the victim of a nasty, neglectful and crazy mother. The girl is a lovely adult today, and such a blessing in my friend’s life.
Rescuing a child - you have my admiration, FWIW lol.
Thank you, but I had a lot of help.
My employer who allowed me to rush off 60 miles away to pick up my grandchild; County employees who gave us assistance when they really were not supposed to (including a great manager who clued in her staff, and helped us fill out the forms for guardianship as well as waiving the fee); judges who were more than willing to see my grandchild placed with her Aunt and Uncle (my middle son and his wife - former foster parents - now with their own children); her teacher as school - who took special care because she had never been to school (she was 6) - mom kept her home to babysit and clean the house.
So many people with the means and the authority to help, they came through big time. Without them, I really don’t know what I would have done.
