A sad day for our village, we lost a former fire chief today from cancer. Way to young. He leaves behind three sons. Heartbreaking. I saw him about three weeks ago having breakfast at a local diner. Only spoke to him for a minute, but it is the last time I saw him. Was planning to take his favorite cookies of mine to him today. Too late now. He went into a hospice facility Friday afternoon. I was waiting till today, to let all those who have to work get to see him over the weekend.

I’m sorry for the loss of your friend-while working on the water lines yesterday, my co-worker and I were reminiscing about our late contractor compadre, how he seemed to have beaten cancer the last time we saw him, but was suddenly dead 2 days later-and how much we still miss him every day more than a year later...

We started working on moving and reinstalling the main water line over the weekend-we have already taken out and replaced the other ones-everything was done with the wrong materials, run all over the place for no apparent reason, etc, so we are putting it in a straight line, with easy access, done the right way with the right materials-with luck I will have water again this weekend and not have to haul it in-I’m getting awfully tired of carrying gallon jugs and buckets-I don’t get why people don’t take care to install something so basic as a water line correctly at their vaca place...
