Eyes Wide Shut.

Leave it to Tom Cruise to screw up a Kubrick film.

I don't think anyone was more surprised than Kubrick was when he was filming an intimate scene with Kidman and Cruise when he realized the latter was gay. Kubrick had to instruct Cruise on how to be intimate with his own wife.

Eyes Wide Shut was butchered by the movie studios. Kubrick's final cut was nerfed beyond recognition by the powers that be apparently. Reasons are varied but supposedly Kubrick hit a little “close to home” with the “establishment”.

I enjoyed that movie AFTER I studied psychology and the dark occult.

Prior to that, first time I watched it, I thought it was long and drawn out like all Kubrick films.

Today I enjoy all Kubrick movies and see why people thought he was so good.

I have an Eyes Wide Shut story.

I was on the road a lot when HBO was playing this film and in every hotel, in every city I was staying I Forced myself to watch it, practically every night for almost a.month.

I never got it. And now I barely remember it. I wonder if seeing it at a theater would have made a difference?
