Nonsense, because there is little direct contact between Indian English speakers and other English speakers. In order for there to be influence, there must be constant and sustained contact.

Veddy, veddy good! I am standing here beside my self with joy to be knowing this.

My wife is Thai. "Squirrel" is pronounced something like "screw" or "suhkwhir" or "scrrrl". She murders the sq in front and can't quite get the ending l.

How many English-speakers in India speak English as their first language? My guess is that most of them speak it as a second language. The fate of the language will most likely be determined by the native speakers.
