I loved Convoy. No telling how many CB radios he helped sell. I hope he made millions. That was a much better time.

It is a glimpse into a culture, an ethos, and a sensibility that no longer exists. It is Americana.

It was purposely destroyed.

C. W. McCall could see the future, and the future is now. Although the environmental activism message of the song I'm referencing here are a little extreme (IMHO), the point of the song title has been pretty well much made. Plus the instrumental aspects of the song still give me shivers (a few tubular bells tossed in, for instance). God help us.
