dont worry about when a user joined Ebay - if the money comes in through PayPal and is good, then youre fine. They cant take the money back
I can't vouch for the US but in the UK this is simply not true. All sellers are treated as businesses. I used to sell a lot on ebay but now only as a last resort because their refund policies now favour fraudulent 'buyers'. The buyer can invent any excuse, such as "it arrived broken" or "the seller sent me a lump of cardboard not a phone", and eBay/PayPal will simply refund their money.
I've had good and bad experiences on eBay, but iPhones and the like are a favourite target for scammers so if you do continue, my advice would be to sell ONLY to a seller with a history of previous good and genuine feedback.
