Per RealClearPolitics, they now have the Dems picking-up four Senate seats, which would mean a 50-50 split with the vice-president casting the deciding vote. A Hillary win would mean she could appoint as many as three SCOTUS justices if the Dem Senate tosses the 60-vote requirement for SCOTUS picks, as they assuredly will. Not a happy thought.

I have my fears also of the Senate confirming Garland before the end of the year.
That is the ONLY thing that is likely to save Toomey as he practically committed political suicide by jumping on the gun-grabber bandwagon.
The Senate has held off dealing with Garland so far.
If Trump wins, why would the Senate confirm Garland after his victory? Wouldn’t they wait for Trump to nominate someone else to the Supreme Court at that point?
I highly doubt a 4 seat pickup... especially if Trump starts to run away with it like it appears he is doing... can spend most of October building coattails.
That is why I’m not sending one single cent to Toomey or (Ron) Johnson this year, when they kept sending letters begging for money.
They made their choices on how they’ve voted, and they live and die by their stands, washing my hands off both of them.
Doubtful - enthusiasm % means Dems will lose a lot of downticket votes.
Sure they do...
This would be the ONE AND ONLY time I would vote across the board republican
(including McLAme)
And for possibly the LAST TIME.
The Rats will be able to steal at least one or 2. Warner, Kaine? What about the retired Warner who supported Hillary?
Yep.
I have no doubt that they will do it.
Kelly Ayotte (who does not deserve re-election) is looking more and more like a winner, for those of you who follow that stuff.
Just paranoid. The Repubs have not been towers of strength since they had 40 votes and none voted for Obamacare. I have doubts about this and how they will be after Trump assumes office.
Well Sen. Kirk will NOT be re-elected.....he should have run as a Democrat, which is what he is.,,,,CREEP!
I agree. I think the Senate will not change.
LA, which turned D for governor in 2015, could also turn D for Senate in 2016. Two Democrat candidates with pluralities could conceivably make the December runoff contest and leave four or five Republicans, who have the majority collectively, out of contention.
I know Trump won’t win Washington State. But I am hoping he will bring enough people to the polls to oust Inslee from the governorship.
The new Senate comes in in early January. The President isn’t sworn in until January 20. A 50/50 Senate with Biden presiding would be able to install any judges it wanted before Trump could stop it.
Do you think they would confirm Garland if Trump wins?
Yea, I see what you mean. There is a 217-day window to do this though it is normally a recess period.
