A draw. No major knockout on either side. Trump stood up for himself when necessary. I don't think it will move the needle, and Krauthammer made a good observation: Draws usually go to the challenger, and that is Donald Trump.
If I were to advise Trump, it would consist of the following:
1) Complete your sentences. You are giving the audience too much credit for figuring out what you mean when you shoot off two or three words.
2) Stop repeating the same point 5 or 6 times. You are wasting time.
3) Speak less to broad concepts and more to the common man.
4) Affability matters. Reagan won on affability. Smile a little more, but not with that forced weird smile Hillary plastered on most of the debate. Also, an affable Reaganesque "There you go again"-style phrase, queued up and ready to go when appropriate, would work wonders.
5) Next time, don't leave those hanging slow pitches unswatted. For example, when Hillary talks about your charity, mention her Clinton Foundation that only gives out 6% of it's money to charitable works. Also, speak more about how Hillary is the DC Establishment, and you are there to challenge that. Many people will identify that as a key takeaway.
On the whole I give Hillary high marks, and Trump close but not as good. Stylistically Hillary did very well, but in content Trump nailed it a few times.
However, he needs to take a reality check and prepare more in a structured debate setting. Obama had a HORRIBLE first debate and came back strong. Trump wasnt horrible, but he needs to come back strong. I know he can do it.
Didn’t Tatumn O’Neill win the academy award for your role?
Excellent analysis, Laz.

Wasn’t Hitler a paper hanger? I bet she’s getting her lies mixed up. Never heard her talk about her father until she needed to sound like she came up from the working classes to offset her image as a self-made global shakedown artist.
Agree it was pretty much a draw but hew drew actual blood, in her mind, several times and it was evident by the 'kicked-in-the-gut look that replaced her grin on those occasions.
I did notice her sudden look of horror. I think I counted 3.
Yup, blatant pandering and off topic. Scripted first series of plays. Just like a football game.
I’m voting for Trump because I believe he loves The USA and is the best candidate that we have had in my adult life. That does not mean I can’t look at his performance with a bit of objectivity. I don’t disagree with the substance of most of what Trump said but when topics were brought up that attacked him, all he needed to do was deflect and bring up any of the multitude of her issues at his disposal.
Pour another one, you need the fuel.
EXACTLY, I can not presume to advise Mr. Trump what to so.
