Believe it or not, there was a time when McDonalds not only had the best French fries, made from fresh potatoes, but also had the best milk shakes, made with real ice cream.
I’m old enough to remember good fries at McDonalds. Canola oil killed them, I understand they use something like sucrose to try to make them crisp like they used to be. Doesn’t help, they still taste bitter from the canola to me.
