There werent that many Rams fans in St. Louis anyway. The stadium was part of the stipulations for moving the team there. As an ex-St. Louisan Im glad they didnt pay hundreds of millions to upgrade/build a stadium for 10 events per year.
Part of that might be the team's performance. Their management was whining about getting a new stadium / upgrades constantly. Personally, if I'd been the mayor my response would've been along the lines of "try winning some games, then we'll talk about it."

Back in 2014-15 when all the talk was about the Rams moving back to LA, a St Louis sportswriter did a comparison of St Louis Rams attendance over previous five years, when they were uniformly bad, to LA Rams attendance in the mid-80’s, when the Rams were pretty good and often made the play-offs. St Louis attendence was SUBSTANTIALLY higher. Don’t fault the St. Louis fans for not supporting the team until it became clear Kronke was going to move them no matter what.
