I wanted to share this with you all this morning. Someone posted the Jimmy Fallon clips of Donald Trump, and while watching I noticed this clip on the side bar of Jimmy Fallon and Carol Burnett.
And it reminded me how really really great Carol was, ( and still is). I think of the thousands of sketches that she and Tim Conway and Harvey Corman did that were so very very funny.
But Carol is not the only one. America has ALWAYS had great funny ladies, THEN and NOW. Who is your favorite?
By the way, does anyone have a link of when Donald Trump comes on Jimmy Fallon's show. I wanted to see what kind of response he got.
Also, there are pages and pages of google video, images and text on the Trump Fallon thing, but there is hardly anything on the Clinton segment on Friday with him. There's the bit with the surgical mask, but nothing else. Anyone see it? The Tonight Show always was a great gauge of who would win the election. Remember Johnny Carson's Applaud Meter?
You beat me to it.
“Yes. We’re the Leopard Gang”
I completely agree. There are none better.
However, when we get to the second tier, in my mind, there's no one better than Gracie Allen, the Yogi Berra of female comedians.
Carmen Miranda was funny....didn’t see her mentioned here, so I thought I would!
Speaking of Carol Burnett, I watched her on The Jack Benny show, a day ago; Jack was Tarzan, she was Jane, and she was funny even then. Jack Benny Show aired late 50s’/ early 60s. Antenna TV was the channel I was watching yesterday, IIRC.
And, a big “YES!!” to Martha Raye. She was always great. I even loved her “Big Mouth” ads for Polident!!

There are three women I like today. Anita Renfroe, Jeane Robertson and Chonda. Pierce. They are hysterical.
Gilda Radner as Roseanne Rosannadanna.
.
That’s funny...
Here are two more funnies (not women):
Jack Lemmon terrorizing a private detective

Hoss and The Leprechaun ‘s PT 1 ( Bonanza Tribute )

THANKS, I don’t know when I’ve laughed so hard!
Gilda Radner, one of the original Not Reasy for Prime Time actors, was one of my favorites. She and Gene Wilder were hilarious at public events when speaking. Gene never seemed the same after Gilda’s passing.
I had never seen that before. It was so funny. Thanks.
[Next to Carol Burnett (always No. 1), Id say Cloris Leachman.]
Cloris is a brilliant character actor in her own right.
Yep. Gracie Allen would also be my hands-down choice.
1) Lucy
2) Carol Burnett
3) Tracey Ullman
Mae West for really old times.
Carol Burnett for more recent.
Today? I’d have to say Cameron Diaz has some sense of comedic timing although she has destroyed her looks with excessive plastic surgery.
Carol Burnett, for sure, as well as Lucille Ball.
But for me, hands down, it is Madeline Kahn.
I’ve always joked that she was the reason that I named my daughter, Madeline.
