The "Republicans" did WORSE then that.
THEY were some of the primary forces FOR Abortion.
Nelson Rockefeller, John Lindsay, George H. W. Bush, Gerald Ford and all their 'strong' wives lobbied intensely for population control along with women's rights.
Sanger was not a Democrat. She was an elitist who wanted the 'little people' to stop having babies.
So the "Republican party" of 1972 was more then just AWOL. They were complicit.
I was only half Meskin so I didnt even qualify to be a chicano.
I try to remind people in my real life that Cankles is no more corrupt than our local city counsel members or County commissioner. They look at me like I am stupid most of the time anyways, but that usually hits a deeper trigger point.
The left loves euphemisms, aka lying language.
The slippery slope claims another victim.
Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. We have had a Uniparty for a very long time. The pretense of the existence of two major political parties where only one actually exists, and one-party rule at that, is what has to be shaken off.
Communist Goal #15, from The Naked Communist (1958), ch. 12
Franklin Roosevelts rapid conversion from Constitutionalism to the doctrine of unlimited government is an oft-told story. But I am here concerned not so much by the abandonment of states rights by the national Democratic Party an event that occurred some years ago when that party was captured by the socialist ideologues in and about the labor movement as by the unmistakable tendency of the Republican Party to adopt the same course. [ ] Thus, the cornerstone of the Republic, our chief bulwark against the encroachment (on) individual freedom by Big Government, is fast disappearing under the piling sands of absolutism.
The Republican Party, to be sure, gives lip service to states rights. We often talk about returning to the states their rightful powers; the Administration has even gone so far as to sponsor a federal-state conference on the problem. But deeds are what count, and I regret to say that in actual practice, the Republican Party, like the Democratic Party, summons the coercive power of the federal government whenever national leaders conclude that the states are not performing satisfactorily.

Go to Eastern Europe-—they are still fighting the good fight.
.
You couldnt even get me to go to England right now. I havent been thru a TSA checkpoint since 2002.
I refused to enter the Trump raffle on Facebook because if I won I would have to go to New York, on his dime, to visit him! And I really really like Trump !
Ya’ll can just come and see me if you want to visit.
We didn’t encourage our children to infiltrate the colleges to teach Conservatism we allowed the Liberals to over-take the education. Those who control education, control the country. Conservative Professors are a minority in our country. Colleges have been over-taken by USA haters, Communists, Socialists, who stomp on our flag. By LGBT professors planting seeds in our little ones.
We failed in many ways. We allowed Dems to say they were the founders of civil rights; when in fact it was Republicans.
Yes. Their Kabuki theater is being exposed, and the howling from the Gang is shrill from both sides.
Trump is executing a hostile takeover of the fake Right of the Uniparty, which is impotent and inert - Jeb Bush being Exhibit A of that group.
I think he got tired of being shaken down by a bunch of snot picking amateurs. He succeeds in New York City where the opposition is WAY worse. The Beltway "Republicans" were child's play for him.
So it remains to be seen what the New Republican party looks like.
As D68 said, we needed Trump 16 years ago, instead of the charlatan Jorge Arbusto.
Will he take swift and decisive action?
That's his game. We can only hope.
But the "never trump" crowd is the proof of the uniparty's existence: he's not playing the game. They have outed themselves, and the world is stunned.
Can we get back to a nation where men and their families live for themselves, not the government? Where we are once again not John Koskinen's slaves?
A guy like Trump understands that. I think he finally got himself to the point where he had the resources to overcome the machinations of garbage like McConnell and Boehner.
It wasn't hard for him. They're two bit hustlers, not even close to him.
But the Bureaucracy serves the Gang. Unless he goes in with an Axe on Day One, they will whittle away at him for years.
Scott Walker did that in Wisconsin. Went for the throat right at the outset. Actually got things done. I think Scott could have been or could be as good, but he's a creature of government himself: he has no money or power of his own. He depends on UniParty largesse.
Trump doesn't. That's what makes him the ultimate threat to them, and their nauseating slave state that they have erected in place of the Old Republic.
PS:
The Naked Communist and Conscience of a Conservative were in my father’s bookshelf in our home in Arizona.
Dad knew Barry, had met Nixon ( in 66, after the original fall; said “smartest guy I ever talked with” ), and was so far to the right of the “East Coast Liberals” like Rockefeller that he even now amazes me for what he saw coming.
The Republican Party of Arizona in the 1960’s was something. We can speak of a “uniparty” but I guarantee you that in the provinces far from D.C., there were people who actually Believed.
They made the desert bloom. The miracle that is Maricopa County is their doing, the triumph over adversity that only individual effort could have produced. There is nothing like it in Mexico, a land where every dimwitted, tribal collectivist idiocy has been tried, and the results are plain to see, just 160 miles south where the fence begins in Nogales.
Thus decrees the State Ghoul.
The State Ghoul has spoken.
Carthage practiced child sacrifice to Moloch.
For centuries it was felt that it was just propaganda by the winning Romans.
But recent archeologic research now seems to prove it was a widespread practice.

I do. I took it in 1982. The original form.
That’s great. I wish more people were like you and would take it seriously.
What fatal disease did the kid have?
So far, they’re hush-hush about that and also the identity of the kid.
She was retarded but aware. They allowed her to die by refusing liquids; she died suffering of thirst....
Thanks very much.
