A good bass player that sings harmony can work 7 nights a week in Texas if he/she wants to. ;o)

I'm all ears ... whereabouts in Texas? My sister wants to move there to get away from these oppressive NYC taxes, and she's trying to talk me into going to TX with her. I'm a bit hesitant because I don't want to leave the NYC limelight, but if it's a steady gig with decent pay than I'm open to it ... as long as I can hit the ski slopes in NM or UT or NV relatively easily ... probably some driving distance from TX, but at least wouldn't have to sweat the 24/7 perpetual traffic jams that is NYC ...

Any of the major Texas cities and especially along the coastal bend. Country and classic rock are always in demand along with some jazz, cajun and Tejano. Head to Luckenbach on a Sunday afternoon/evening for the jam session and meet lots of great folks. Austin has lots of live music but the competition for $$$ is intense. I'm going to see my sisters band in Austin this weekend but if she wasn't a software engineer for Samsung during the day she'd never make it. ;o) She's in two or three different bands and plays guitar, mandolin and banjo. Singer-songwriters are everywhere. I live in the hill country about 30 miles from Luckenbach.
