The comic book slide show, illustrated by Andy Warner, is part of KQED’s series “The Lowdown,” described by the station as “Connecting newsroom to classroom,” and is presented among “lesson plans and education guides” for teachers to use.
The “lesson” consists of twelve panels, starting with two panels depicting the Republican presidential nominee commenting on Mexican immigrants and proposing to shut down Muslim immigration. It goes on to explain: “Some Americans find his rhetoric alarming, but it follows a long tradition of anti-immigrant public discourse.”
Subsequent panels trace hostility to immigration from Benjamin Franklin in the mid-18th century, to the Know-Nothings of the 1850s, through the anti-Catholic Ku Klux Klan, the internment of Japanese-Americans

I had a professor who urged me to donate to PBS. I didn't say anything to her but...my FACE is ALWAYS a dead giveaway to what I'm thinking. She never asked me again.

PBS sends me crap occasionally and it goes STRAIGHT into the circular file.
I donate to the charities where I KNOW that 95% of the money I donate goes to those who need it.
ALL the other charities have the reverse of that donation plan.

There has been a recent surge in usage of this term called "cuckservative", which is an amalgamation of the term "cuckold" (someone who tolerates someone having sex with their wife) and "conservative."
People say it is unfair, but it occurs to me that defunding NPR is a very little thing in the larger spectrum of things, and at this point the idea is only useful insofar as it demonstrates the abject cowardice and unseriousness of supposedly "conservative" office holders.
They can't even defund NPR. They *ARE* Eunuchs and Cuckolds.
