Seahawks to stand, interlock arms during anthem

Doug Baldwin promised the Seattle Seahawks would plan a demonstration of "unity" during the national anthem before Sunday's season opener against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 11.
On Saturday, Baldwin revealed the team's plan to stand and interlock arms.
"We are a team comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds," Baldwin said in the video. "And as a team, we have chosen to stand and interlock arms in unity. We honor those who have fought for the freedom we cherish. And we stand to ensure that the riches of freedom, and the security of justice for all people. Progress can and will be made only if we stand together."

I stand corrected. But I've seen it disregarded so routinely (probably because nobody even knows it's federal law) that it's certainly not a sign of disrespect.
Additionally, such a law appears to be obviously unconstitutional as it essentially mandates specific speech (expression).

Well, given that the entire premise of their “protest” is based on an outright fabrication and lie (that black men are being murdered in unprecedented numbers by the police), it is a bad thing.
A cop is 18 times more likely to be murdered by a black man, than a black man is to be shot by a cop.
That is a fact, using government statistics. If they wanted to show some unity about the unprecedented war on cops by black men, I would be all for it.
But this is all just a lie that these people are protesting.

It’s so very frustrating for me to read FReeper comments that claim impotence and helplessness rather than offwring ideas or suggestions on how to fight back against the leftist plague that burdens us now. I thought FR was supposed to be a grass roots forum for conservative ideas and activism. Appears to me that has degenerated into a forum whiners, containers and hand-wringers that prefer to sit on their backsides and blog rather than working to find a solution.
