Point taken. However, I wouldn't bother having all that on a plane in the first place. I currently use bluetooth headphones on every flight. The duration of the battery charge is more than enough for flights. I recharge in the hotel room. So all the gear would be stowed away in luggage for flights.
If I had only short flights, that could work. I get the pleasure of flying to Hong Kong every month, and that’s a 15 hour slog one way. And then I often have to travel domestically inside China - and those airlines (and many other intra-Asia airlines) do not allow any Bluetooth operation.
Wired still has quite a bit of viability! Not sure what was really gained by removing the jack - it’s a thicker phone, not enough volume gained to do really anything with battery capacity (around 0.5cc volume gained), and not a leak potential (at least not for the 20+ other phones that are waterproof and have 3.5mm jacks).
