Supposedly the German formulation had emollients that offset the effects of the alcohol on the skin. I used to have a couple small bottles around, picked up at the MEDICA Fair, and it didn’t seem at all harsh. I never delved into it further because I’d always worked on the export side, with mostly US products, and had neither the contacts nor the interest in trying to import the product. I know those outside the industry might be surprised, but FDA frightens off a lot of small and medium size overseas companies, and quite a few US startups, making really good and unique products we could use.
