The way it’s supposed to work is, you take in information, use your brain to perform integrative thinking, and then formulate your beliefs. It really doesn’t matter whether the source has a bias or not unless you are just looking for someone to tell you what to think.

I have to disagree. Your assumption is that the information taken in is full and complete, adequate to make a judgment. How the media expresses its bias is in what it does and does not tell its viewers/listeners/readers. So if you are given only half a story, or not told the story at all, how are you to make an informed judgment?
