Your story about Bundy got me thinking. I know someone else who got away from him. So lucky. Anyway I decided to come up with a list.

I’ve known a few political figures but some of their names are probably not easily recognized. These might be recognized
Noam Chomsky - no comment
Michael Dukakis - ran for president
Bill Weld - running for president
Bill Moyers was fairly important as chief of staff years ago and later on television.
Mike O’Callaghan who I knew in D.C. He was governor of Nevada and later they named the bridge by the Hoover Dam after him.

Some entertainers
Gene Shallot - very smart and entertaining
Ric Ocasek (The Cars) wears very tight black leather pants
Aerosmith guitar guy - can’t remember his name at the moment. Lots of fun. Lots.
Junior Walker (of the All Stars) One of the best saxophonists ever
Mike Barnacle - who was not happy I didn’t know who he was

Some athlete guys
Nick Buonaconti - the Dolphins?
Joe Sciabelli - LA Rams?
Lonnie Saunders - announcer and prior to that the Redskins
Tommy Heinsohn - now an announcer
Mugssey Bogues - basketball

Business types - quite a few although a lot of the names would not be recognizable. One would be, Jeff Skilling.

All of them were interesting, very interesting. Two stand out as real gentlemen although all of them were gentlemen. One is Mike O’Callaghan - truly a very good man. He was a Marine and he lost a leg in combat. Also, Jeff Skilling. He is a kind and very considerate man - no matter what the media says. Really smart too.

hmmm...it looks like I’ve only met famous men. I like women, just don’t meet many- although three of my girlfriends married football players - Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, and New England Patriots.

This has been an interesting thread. Aren’t we bless to have met good people. And think of all those we have met who are wonderful and they’re not featured in the media.

I just remembered - I met the Atlanta Falcons basketball team one night. Does that count? I didn’t get to know them, I just got on the elevator and there were about 8 - 10 of the tallest black guys. Without thinking blurted out “what is this, a basketball team?” They all nodded yes. Making it worse, I asked “what are you doing here” and they said we just had a game tonight. I said, “Great - did you win?” They said “no”. Good grief. I hit the button on the elevator (yes, it was a hotel) and got out on the next floor. That’s what happens when you profile tall guys.

BTW there were two gals in the elevator who were ready to kill me if I spoke with any of the guys anymore. I was out of there!

Oh I didn’t have the Bundy story, that was someone else.... harrowing tale for sure!!

Yes, it is a most interesting thread.... I keep thinking of more famous and semi-famous people with whom I have crossed paths for a little bit, though none I know well. There are some at high levels of the social media and software world I’ve known in an earlier life, and some near the top of the rock/mountain climbing world..... maybe I will write up another comment about them.....
