I'm going with “it won't happen” short of 8-10k of tax payer subsidies. Even then it will be years in the making.
Equivalent of 33mpg at California electric prices and gas prices. Not bad...but needs 400 mile+ range and a starting price of $30k or less to be really popular. (w/o subsidies).
