My ‘common use’ is a few miles a day with occasional one-way trips of about 300 miles.

Mine too but I need the flexibility to make long trips periodically. I cannot afford (well, more accurately, justify) a car dedicated to just commuting.

Depends on the situation. If you drive a bunch of miles every day but less than a charge you can save a bundle and then rent a van for the long trips.

If you are a low mileage driver, you wouldn’t save that much either way.

EVs aren’t yet for everyone, but they make a great second car for a lot of people.
