So did my husband. He was the only hold out in the United Way drive. His boss donated in his name so the department would have 100% participation.

I have my own horror story of dealing with the Sa!action Army and to this day would never putty one penny in their buckets.

I was the sole United Way holdout at a former (yep) job. After serious arm-twisting from the boss, I pledged one American dollar, checking the box to be billed quarterly. The bill never came, so I guess United Way can manage without me.
