Snakes’ *mouths* are not where salmonella would come from...their butts, *maybe*.

You stand more risk of contracting that from eggs, chicken and vegetables picked by migrant workers.

Although concentration is highest in the intestinal tract, there are lots of documented cases of infection following a reptile bite with no other contact.
