She posted an email telling people to donate to the Red Cross

Prolly because she knows that if you donate to the Red Cross your money is as likely to be spent on terrorists in the middle east, as on Americans in Louisiana. I learned that when heading up a donation drive after 9/11 - we sent all of our money to the New York Fireman's Fund and other specific funds for 9/11 victims.

I wouldn't give a penny to the Red Cross if they made me gold gilded promises.

Back in the ‘70’s when I was single, I worked for the government...We were mandated to donate to United Way, but we could choose where our donation went...

I didn’t like it being mandated, so I donated all mine to The Florence Crittenton Agency (home for unwed mothers)...

My boss asked me why, so I gave him the best smartass answer I could....

I said I was responsible for most of ‘em....

I only give to the Salvation Army. Lost my home with hurricane Ivan. The first and only relief for our neighbor hood was Salvation Army with a hot food truck giving food to all trying to go through debris and salvage something.

If you wanted help from Red Cross or FIMA you had to go to there station and apply for help. And of course no UnitedWay to be found.

The CEO of the Red Cross makes big buck$
and I would rather help support those 'in need', rather than a CEO !
