My next phone will have a removeable battery. They can trace your phone, as long as it has power.

Removable batteries are hard to find in new smarphones. The LG G4 has one, not sure about the G5.

They can trace it without it too.

There is enough battery power for a weak GPS signal. Invest in a faraday bag.

If you are using it for wilderness, GPS and the like check out the “Earl” trekking pda. Other than that, just get a battery operated GPS for the car.
