Regarding 'Young Frankenstein' - I was not thinking of the cat sound, but good call, Yes that is Mel Brooks doing that sound. That then means there were two cameos by Brooks. The second (the one I remembered)is he does the Howling wolf sound.
Regarding 'The Producer's: I had to look closely at that dance scene again, as I thought it was Brooks as one of the dancers! Thanks

Almost everyone knows the familiar story about Buddy Ebsen and the silver paint reaction that kept him from the part of the Tin Woodsman in the The Wizard of Oz.” But did you know we still hear him in the movie? The song Were Off To See The Wizard was already done and left in the movie as is, with Ebsen singing. Was too expensive to redo.
