They don't make excuses. They get involved and they take action..."

That all sounds pretty defeatist to me. Speak for yourself with how "involved" leftwinger people are...simply because they are fans of science fiction movies that happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

Being active and engaged is not solely limited to leftwingers...even ones who are into fictional Wookiees and that sort of thing.
