SS and Medicare require that we contribute to our own care. We pay taxes today, to support today's retirees ... on the promise that tomorrow's workers will be taxed to pay us as retirees.
Charles Ponzi was imprisoned and deported for attempting to operate such a scheme. And he didn't even dragoon people into it at gunpoint.
