The teen shot and killed by a Jefferson Parish deputy sheriff in a Metairie warehouse late Tuesday (July 26) had attempted to fire his weapon but the gun may have malfunctioned, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said in a press conference.
"Devon Martes tried to kill one of my officers," Normand said, referring to the 17-year-old man who was killed. "Devon Martes is not the victim. The victim in this case is Deputy Dave Dalton."
The shooting took place just before midnight at 4013 N. Interstate 10 Service Road inside a warehouse used to sort and distribute newspapers to dealers for delivery. A video of the incident was later released by Advance Central Services-Southeast, a sister company of NOLA Media Group, which operates NOLA.com and publishes The Times-Picayune.
The video shows Martes raising what appears to be a gun and twice pointing it to the deputy before the officer shoots him.

Funny thing about Hi-Points.you and I know that they are basically junk, but the darn things shoot and shoot with few problems.
#24: “Bond. My name is James Bond”.
The kid’s name was Devon. Lots of punks killed recently by everyone were Donte, Devonte’, Trayvon, Treyvon, Dacron, Akron, LaDonte, De something or other.
How about giving the kids a name that doesn’t make them a verbal freak show?
Slide/barrel looks nice and dirty.
Inartful removal of the serial number. Compare to the decent looking one posted down thread.
I remember watching a show on that.
They were using 10/22’s.
From. The wear on the outside of the barrel it looks like it’s been heavily used. Also looks like a Beretta.
At an international spy conference:
Bond: “I’m Bond. James Bond.”
Spanish spy: “I’m well. Manuel.”
With its inordinate impact on blacks, abortion = crime control. Democrats just don’t want to say it out loud..
Also leads to a lot of inbreeding over time in relatively isolated communities. After all, if a Trayvon doesn’t know who his old lady’s daddy is, he could easily be doing it with his half sister. There are very good reasons for keeping accurate genealogical records.
The barrel is rusted; the grip is smashed and broken; the release is completely inoperable. It’s amazing he didn’t kill himself trying to shoot the thing. Oh wait, he did! Lol
Looks like a very old/abused beretta 92FS with some kind of aftermarket stocks.
Is your serial number on the left front? If so, it appears a successful s/n restoration was made. (Bluing etched off the frame).
Actually taking care of your stuff and making sure it works,is acting white.
Yeah, I can see it better now on my desktop instead of the phone.
Someone once said that 90% of life is showing up. The corollary is that the other 10% is maintenance. Advantage, whitey.
‘Cept the first shot is very often a misfire. I recommend Hi-Points to all low lives for this reason; also, it’s all they can usually afford. They go click with their Hi-Point, I go bang with my Makarov. Happy ending. : )
Here in Florida, 2 teens were killed at a nightclub a few nights ago... one was 14...the other was 17...
Sorry, a teen should be in the house either in bed or doing schoolwork...
But then, I'm a white middle class teens with parents who are RESPONSIBLE!!!
Exactly! Unknown siblings all over the place. The latest on this POS from NOLA .com: criminal record from age 10. One of 11 kids. Brother killed in street in 2008. Surprisingly mama says he was a good boy but he had it coming. Did say he was small so he was shot too many times. Criminal since 10 is considered a “good boy”. That mentality is the problem. No mention of kidlets yet. 9 more at home will probably end the same way.
Black Guns Matter.

Lack of maintenance will turn anything into junk. That’s why it’s amusing to see all of these complex weapon systems going to Islamics whose idea of maintenance is “im’shallah”. Take the foreign tech crews out of the picture, and it all falls apart.
