I tried a 30 day free cable trial several years ago and watched Fox News a few times. Every single time, I already knew more about the issues from reading FR than Fox reported. Listening to them chew on something for 10-15 minutes when I already had more information from reading it on FR in less than 5 minutes just didn’t seem like a good use of my time.

I think you summed it up. My family and my friends all know that I am a politics/news geek, yet they are shocked when I tell them that I never watch television news at all. Television news is worse than useless because it gives a impression of a story - any story, that bears no relation to the truth.
