Hillary Clinton and the Democrats should be worried.
Why? Because Donald Trump delivered Thursday night and did what he needed to do. No, he didnt deliver a speech with great oratorical flourish. No, he didnt broaden the base of the party significantly though he did speak about minorities and the LGBTQ community in ways that he hadnt done before.
What Trump did, and he did it very well, was to raise the stakes of the election and define it in his own terms. Law and order, crime in the streets, and terror. He managed to make the argument, compellingly, that these challenges were the central ones America faced and that given the failures of President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, his way of change was the only way to go.
It was a long speech, it ran well over an hour and it was repetitive in parts. But that doesnt matter. Trump was ultimately speaking to a fairly discrete and arguably specific constituency of Americans. Concentrated, though not exclusively, in the swing states of the industrial Midwest.

You’re made of sterner stuff than I if you can bear to watch the entire DNC. I know I should, but I doubt I’ll make it. Please keep us updated.
Maybe they’ll trot out Chelsea’s crooked hedge fund manager husband. He fits into that family perfectly.
I intend to watch every moment of the DNConvention.
Brave soul. I might have to force myself this time, the MSN will be in their glory.
LOL, yep, that dude lost a lot of money on his hedge fund, from what I heard. Lots of his investors are steaming about having lost so much with his investment advice.
I never understood how Mark and Chelsea were able to buy a $10 million luxury Manhattan co-op apartment.
The Clintons might be scared only if they think Trump can get enough of the legitimate vote- say 70% or more- that when Mrs. Bill is announced as the winner, the whole population knows it’s a lie, the shooting starts and the Democrats are on the wrong end of it.
I daresay no other Republican who ran, except possibly Cruz, would actually challenge Mrs. Bill on these things, on substance, on her criminal record, etc. They are all afraid that the people really do believe everything she says. You can’t present a better alternative when you don’t define what it is an alternative to.
I never see any Clinton ads on TV. I got rid of my family’s mind deadener and time waster in ‘88 and haven’t gone back.
Race and her purported status as a Woman.
Only if you're a socialist pig. LOSER
Doug Schoen says that Hillary “...needs to address the issues of law and order...”. Hypocrisy will be in full bloom when that happens.
In a Golf playoff, you always want to go first and put the pressure on your opponent.
Trump just hit an ace, Hillary is about to end up in a hazard.
If the election was held next Tuesday, Trump would win by 300+ EV.
I always catch the Insiders on Sunday. My favorite is Pat Caddell, but I just wish they would let him speak. He has the most keen insight yet gets squeezed on time.
Watch the DNC (Hillary anointing convention) and see how it turns into the Get Trump Convention. It will be all about how bad Trump is, how stupid, how racist, how arrogant, how totally awful he is—He’s a Nazi, He’s a Fascist, He is a new Hitler who will be gassing Mexicans ans Muslims his first year in office. They believe he is the Grand Dragon of the New KKK. They are going manic to try to stop him. The acts of terrorism is helping Trump. As the democrats get panic-striken, the more mistakes and the turn to “Dirty Tricks” they will turn to them.
Meanwhile, the rats keep yelling “Trump doesn’t have any concrete plans!”
Libs always yell about their own discrepancies.
Oh, that reminds me. We really REALLY want to see Dinesh D'Sousa's new movie, Hillary's America.
F'n Dems!
Hillary Jezebel Clinton.
